Jobs, Blogs, Hoorays for Happy Things!

I know I am a little late in officially announcing this, I got a job! Almost a month and a half ago, I randomly turned in an application to a sushi restaurant in Cedar City called Ninja Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi. I totally forgot about it two weeks later. I got a call after school about a week and a half ago, and was asked if I would come in. I set up an interview, and was immediately told that I was a great candidate, I would just have to show them that I knew what I was doing (I have never ever worked at a restaurant...my skills range from teaching little kids swimming lessons, baby-sitting little kids, and loving little kids). They gave me a little instruction, and then just kinda threw me into the operation. I actually had a lot of fun! I was asked to come in for another day of training, but still no word on whether or not I got the job. I told them that I didn't want to keep coming in for training unless I had a job (I put it much nicer than that). So I was sent home...thinking that I lost my chance. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long to find out. I got a call twenty minutes after I got home...I got the job! So now I am working about four days a week, I am only making seven dollars an hour, but it’s much better than nothing!

There were whispers going around between the employees of the restaurant for about the first hour of my first official day. Finally this funny Chinese kid came up to me and asked me how old I was. I told him and he was baffled. "We thought you were fifteen and we were wondering HOW you got this job" I was so sad, and kind of embarrassed. Everyone kept saying, "don’t you want to look younger than you are?" Uh, yeah, but not until I'm like 40! So I decided that I needed to make a change. We drove down to St. George to get the puppy for my sister and I decided to get my hair cut (thinking that would make me look less young). I chopped all of my hair off! I got it cut at the hair school in Washington (hooray for eight dollar hair cuts! --you can’t even get that from great clips!) I got a hair cut that I love, inspired by Katie Holmes new do. I love doing my hair. It takes like ten minutes; I don't have to get up at six to make it to school by eight-thirty! Unfortunately, only one person (out of 13) said that I looked older. (Frown, sigh.)

Look at all of the hair they cut off! Sorry if this grosses you out...I was very impressed.

Ugh! Now I am remembering all of these things that I want to tell everyone! I need to stay on top of the blog!

Here is something funny:

I don't have a parking pass for school. The only place available for someone like me to park is either on a really busy street, or about five blocks from the school, OR:

The broken parking meter! Hooray for broken meter number 4! I don't know if you can see the little hand, but is all the way to the right, stuck! Yay. I get to school extra early just so I can park in the spot where the meter is magically stuck at two hours. FREE PARKING!
Who needs parking passes? They are so over rated.

I love when it snows. LOVE IT. I don’t know why, that is just the way it is. Unfortunately, since it has snowed we have not been getting out of the house and walking as often as we had been. We got the left over storm from Salt Lake last week. I didn’t even want to get out of the car. It came so fast, I wasn’t properly equipped to handle it. I was wearing sling back shoes-basically sandals. I was freezing cold and soaking wet. John was just mad. He doesn’t like the snow.

Oh! I almost forgot. I have some pictures from our weekend in Salt Lake.

This is a picture of the newest edition to the Carter family; Lucky the dog. He is so cute. He is a poodle cocker spaniel mix. My mom would never dream of letting me and my sisters get a dog when we were little, due to a bad experience with a cat before I was old enough to remember. My mom LOVES this dog. She was the absolute last person on earth that I ever thought would even think about owning a dog. She spoils little Lucky like crazy. I think that hell has frozen over.

This is me and Aly.

Wow, I look tired. Probably because we spent a good part of the day in the car (I am still not used to the three plus hours it takes to get to Summit as apposed to the one and a half hours it took to get to Ephraim).

Here are Ben and Aly. Oh my gosh I miss them so much I could cry. They are on the very top of the list of my best friends.

It is so crazy to me how they have grown up so fast. Aly is already on point in dance and Ben is a second degree black belt in Tae Kwondo (I know it sounds nerdy, but it is one of the coolest things ever! It made him strong enough to easily take me down).

Here is John and I waiting for our pancakes to finish cooking. We went to a late movie the night before and we were tired. Ben and Aly had friends sleeping over. Needless to say, we were prematurely woken up.

Here are just a few more pictures of my siblings.

Ha ha. I never noticed that I had a googley eye!

I hope that you didn't think that I was going to forget about the nieces and nephew! Here are just a few photos that I snapped while visiting with the Barrons.

I don't think that either of us were ready for that one.

Thats better.

Here is adorable little Lizzy. Brent asked me to feed her while he helped Laura with the bed.

These ones are funny. Jane is trying to get John to play with her, but he is too tired.

She kept trying and trying.

And eventually gave up.

Silly Janiekins. She loves her uncle Johnny. We love her too.

This one is of Ben and Lizzy. They immediately darted towards me right when I took my camera out. They must know whats coming, Laura has trained them well.

Alright, well that pretty much sums up the week. Whew, I think that is the longest blog ever, it took like three hours. I guess I'll need no hone my blogging skills. Until next time, much love to all.

Cute pictures! Cute hair! Cute doggy! Awesome job! Do you eat sushi now? I REALLY like the hair. It does make you look older, which is kinda funny that it would make that big of a difference. I'm so happy for you and your magical parking meter. That's awesome. I used to park off campus when I was at the U to park and every time I wondered why I even bothered with a car at all. Love you guys.

Good work, Danielle!! I love your hair. I hope you can get out and get some exercise even when it snows--it's fun to walk in the snow, I think. See you soon.

Wow. That was a marathon post. The new hair is cute. I definitely think you look older than 15 - for whatever that's worth. Cute pictures!
